The local area is ideal for a whole host of various activities, including walking, fishing (rods/tackle on site) cycling (cycles available), golf, (ladies/gents clubs on site to borrow). There are two golf courses within 5 minutes drive. We also have two kayaks (triple seat and solo) should you wish to get out on the water.

 

If you like painting, there is a fully equipped studio on site where you may enjoy a few hours of peace and tranquillity (lessons available if you have never painted before but wish to try).

 

The area has a huge variety of scenic opportunities, majestic views and colourful panoramas from mountains and rugged rocks to small secluded inlets and bays to vast beaches and rocky cliffs bordering the Atlantic Ocean. Take a drive down to the Mizen Head peninsula, the most western point in Ireland and view the famous Fastnet Rock. Enjoy a drink in the pub in Crookhaven. Visit the famous Gouganne Barra (35 mins drive) or head out over the Priest's Leap towards Kenmare and Killarney to visit the lakes and mountains of Kerry. Cork city is only just over an hour away with Blarney Castle and the small historic town of Cobh (pronounced Cove) nearby.

 

Visit the seaside towns of Kinsale, Clonakilty, Skibbereen and Schull. There are an abundance of good restaurants within the area catering for all tastes and budgets.

The Beara peninsula and the "Ring of Kerry" both provide wonderful days out should you prefer more adventurous forays into the depths of Irish rural life.
